Roberto Paternostro

Roberto Paternostro was the assistant to Herbert von Karajan, General Music Director at the Kassel State Theatre as well as music director of the Israel Chamber Orchestra.

He has made guest performances at the Bavarian State Opera, the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin, the Teatro Colón, the Semperoper Dresden, at Teatro La Fenice, Teatro Liceu, Teatro Bellini, in Tokyo and Toronto, as well as at international festivals.

The conductor has worked with orchestras such as the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne, Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna Symphony, and the Bruckner Orchestra Linz.

Roberto Paternostro received the prestigious German 'ECHO Klassik' Award 2012 for his live CD recording "Historical Moment in Bayreuth" with the Israel Chamber Orchestra.

The artist is designated musical director of the Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra and starts his work in March 2019.

Future engangements include CD recordings with the Swedish Radio Symphony in Stockholm, Elektra at the Mariinsky Theatre Saint Petersburg, Opera Stuttgart (Lohengrin), Hamburg State Opera (Simone Boccanegra), Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona (Parsifal, Turandot), Lisbon (Parsifal), Strasbourg (Daphne), Mannheim National Theatre (Rosenkavalier), concerts with the New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, hr-Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt, Dresden Philharmonic, Orquesta Nacional de España, Seattle, Baltimore, Cincinnati and Houston Symphony Orchestra, Hallé-Orchestra Manchester, the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and the Montreal Symphony Orchestra among others.
