Iván
Paley was born in Bogotá.
He studied composition and piano in Buenos Aires. In the
year 2000, he moved to Vienna, where he completed his singing
studies with Edith Mathis.
Iván Paley has performed, among other venues, at
the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, the
Florida Grand Opera and the opera house in Gent. He is particularly
attracted to the lied and concert repertoire, having recorded
several of Gustav Mahler’s lied cycles alongside Diana
Damrau and Robert Dean Smith. From 2006 to 2008, he gave
a number of lied recitals on some of the world’s most
important concert stages: Carnegie Hall (New York), Alte
Oper (Frankfurt), Theater an der Wien, Prinzregententheater
(Munich), as well as at the festivals in Rheingau, Ludwigsburg
and Schleswig-Holstein.
In 2007, he went on an extended tour of Japan with the soprano
Edita Gruberova.
In 2008, he founded the agency VMC
– Vienna Music Connection, together with Rodrigo Mora. |
